As a 19 year old college sophomore, I am beginning to face many career obstacles that I am eager to pursue. I am currently in the process of receiving my Bachelor's Degree in Biomedical Laboratory Diagnostics at Michigan State University so I can more thoroughly understand how the human body works to maintain within a healthy state, and understand why specific laboratory tests and treatments are used under circumstances. By accumulating this knowledge, I plan on becoming a physician who gives the best patient care, rather than seeing a disease and remembering a treatment. In the summer of 2016, I traveled to Bocas del Toro, Panama as a medical outreach mission for two weeks. Proceeding my return home, I worked at J.C. Penney's in Flint, Michigan until I had to move back to East Lansing for school at the end of August. Then, I started my sophomore year off as an Undergraduate Learning Assistant for Lyman Briggs Chemistry Laboratory leading college freshman through general chemistry laboratory procedures. At the end of that fall semester, I was offered a job as a Lab Attendant for Lyman Briggs and have since been an employer. These laboratory jobs have proven beneficial in the fact that they have increased my knowledge on how to perform basic laboratory tasks and how to take inventory, while also aiding in the development of my communication skills.Once I graduate, I will be entering medical school with the mindset of becoming the best physician I can possibly be, while also looking for employment in health care. I believe I have all the necessary skills and discipline for a job within a clinical setting, in addition to the time management skills to focus on my studies and be a diligent employee. As a person I am ethical, charismatic, patient, and hard-working.
