In this role, I graded assignments for a Junior-level Environmental Engineering course covering topics like water treatment and environmental regulations. I held review sessions and office hours before exams and coordinated with Professors to ensure an organized classroom environment.

During summer orientation for incoming engineering school freshman and transfer students, I helped students individually to select their class schedules and process previous credits. I also advised students on the transition from high school to college using empathy and interpersonal skills to draw from personal experience. In the Peer Advisor program, our goal was to foster a welcoming environment for new students which included first-generation students, low-income students, and international students.

In this role, I supported teaching in a Sophomore-level Civil Engineering course held in a flipped-classroom environment. My responsibilities included assistance with in-class problem sets and assignments as well as organization and preparation before classes.

In this role, I worked as a research assistant for a Civil Engineering graduate student studying alternative structural concrete aggregate options like steel fiber.

At the Engineering division of the Public Works Department, I explored infrastructure solutions and innovations for a town of 100,000 people, including a large student population. Initially, I supported ground and stormwater testing of a contaminant plume created by 50 years of fertilizer production at the 500-acre Farmland Industries site. After a rotation on this project, I then drafted a later-awarded grant application for construction of a $1.6-million dollar pedestrian and bicycle underpass at a vital city intersection.

In this role as a waterfront director, I taught waterfront sports six days a week including managing a windsurfing program. I trained and directed a staff of five co-workers to ensure a safe and enjoyable program for campers and assisted camp owners with all major operations including safety measures and logistics. All summer, I worked with over 40 co-workers within an all-female environment based on empowering women as leaders and helped adolescent girls build confidence and skills away from technology and pressures of home.

In this role, I supervised the health and well-being of cabins of 10-12 adolescent girls during two or four week camp sessions. With my fellow counselor, we mentored girls in a leadership program based on age-appropriate character development and teamwork. I received training in large-group facilitation and cutting-edge team-building techniques, as well as two trainings on the Love and Logic behavior management program. Throughout the summer, I supported planning and execution of large all-camp events and managed many different roles and tasks simultaneously while interacting with a variety of ages and personalities.
