Initially, I supported ground and stormwater testing of a contaminant plume created by 50 years of fertilizer production at the 500-acre Farmland Industries site. After a rotation on this project, I then drafted a later-awarded grant application for construction of a $1.6-million dollar pedestrian and bicycle underpass at a vital city intersection.

In this role as a waterfront director, I taught waterfront sports six days a week including managing a windsurfing program. I trained and directed a staff of five co-workers to ensure a safe and enjoyable program for campers and assisted camp owners with all major operations including safety measures and logistics. All summer, I worked with over 40 co-workers within an all-female environment based on empowering women as leaders and helped adolescent girls build confidence and skills away from technology and pressures of home.
