• Perform the duties of ‘The Engineer Representative’ as per FIDIC.• Recommends solutions for contractual issues.• Foreseeing discrepancy and advise client and contractor to avoid Dispute.• Managing the coordination and delivery of the project to meet the time, quality and budgetary targets, whilst meeting or exceeding client expectations.• Keep, monitor and follow up as necessary and complete records as per FIDIC for the execution of the works as required to assess the contractor’s progress.• Monitor the actions on site of the contractors against the project specification, drawings and immediately notify the Employer & Contractor of any non-conformity.• Review all submittals including shop drawings, materials and alternative proposals submitted by contractors.• Review of variations, issue of VOR, VO to avoid contractor’s claims for cost and/or delay.• Head the progress meeting with the contractor(s), employer representative to monitor the progress of work against the approved program. • Carry out/assign inspectors for site inspection of the work done by the contractor(s) to ascertain works are proceeding in accordance with the specification and accepted practice.• Carry out of the Snagging/DE snagging for certification of works.• Prepare drafts of any necessary correspondence required for the proper administration of the contract.• Preparation of monthly reports on the status of the project.• Assess the contractor’s interim payment application by checking quantities of works carried out.• Assessment, verification and approval of the contractor(s) “As-built” drawings, Operation and Maintenance manuals of the handover of the work to the Employer.• Ensure client’s needs (schedule) are met in a timely and cost-effective manner.• Overseeing health and safety matters on site.
