About Amanda Bosserman

I graduated from the University of Alabama in Huntsville with a Master of Science degree in biology in 2021. I gained extensive field work experience working with a variety of organizations including the National Park Service, NASA, Alabama A&M University, and the Student Conservation Association. During my time as a master’s student at UAH I became interested in using GIS technology to aid in conservation initiatives. This subsequently led to two terms as a team member in the NASA Develop national program where I utilized GIS to assess conservation issues in the field of ecological forecasting. I joined the Huntsville Botanical Garden team as a GIS Specialist in September of 2022 where I was responsible for database management and field documentation of curated trees, shrubs and herbaceous perennial plants. My research interests lie at the intersection of conservation biology and GIS technology.
