I am currently assigned to the Patrol Division and oversee graveyard operations out of our District 2 station. I am responsible for mentoring, coaching, and encouraging both the Patrol Sergeants and Police Officers on graveyard shift. I am responsible for the Council Security Team, am the Executive Officer for our Crisis Negotiation Unit, and am the department coordinator for Crisis Intervention.

I am currently assigned as one of the Youth Services Unit Sergeants. I am assigned out of our District II station, and am responsible for all schools and School Resource Officers in the north half of our city. I am responsible for created a positive work environment with my officers as well as mentoring them in their daily activities. I also meet with two school district administrators to ensure youth in our schools have a safe learning environment. I continually meet with school staffs to ensure their respective needs are being met by their assigned SRO. I complete monthly reports for the multiple school districts as well as agency command staff. During the summer I help supervise numerous youth programs out unit provides to Thornton youths. This year I developed a new summer program that will create positive peer connections with at risk youth and other students.

I am currently assigned to the Administrative Division as the department training coordinator and background investigator. My duties are responsible for the hiring and selection process of new candidates as well as completing assigned background investigations for the department. I am also assigned to coordinate monthly in-service training to Colorado POST standards.I was previously assigned to the Patrol Division as a Police Officer with the City of Thornton. I respond to calls for service and investigate in progress and cold criminal incidents. Contact victims, interview suspects, and complete necessary reports as required.

Responsible for Training, advising and mentoring Iraqi Police and Specialized Response Units. Duties include setting course curriculum, supervising, training and advising Iraqi police Officers. I was responsible for advising the Provincial Chief of Police on current training strategies and assisting in the restructuring of District and Local Police Stations. I also supervised a team of International Police Advisors to train, mentor and advise Iraqi Emergency Response Units in multiple six week periods. Additionally I created, implemented and mentored the basic tactical course to Iraqi Police Instructors. In Baghdad, I supervised several teams of International Police Advisors that reported to the provincial, directorate, and district level Iraqi Police. I was responsible for writing evaluations, assigning team tasks, reviewing and submitting daily, weekly, and monthly reports. Attend regular meetings and strategy sessions with military counterparts to establish training plans and curriculum.

Assigned to Patrol Division and Special Operations Division (Traffic Unit and Flatiron Services Unit). Duties included criminal investigations of felony/misdemeanor crimes, crime scene processing, evidence collection, suspect/witness interrogations, report writing and court testimony. While in Traffic unit, I was assigned to the Accident Reconstruction Team, Motorcycle Patrol and Traffic Enforcement. Field Training Officer responsible for training and mentoring new Officers.

Created a positive learning environment both in the classroom and in practical exercises while covering a wide variety of law enforcement topics. Produced lesson plans and evaluations for students. Mentored and advised recruits attending the academy in preparation for their state certification test.

My duties were to answer and investigate calls for service and complete necessary written reports. Investigate such calls to determine if crimes had been committed and if so, locate and apprehend the suspect(s). Investigate traffic accidents and respond to emergencies as they arose. Complete written reports to my supervisors as well as complete arrest and search warrants when needed. Meet with the district attorney to file cases and testify in court. I was also a field training officer and was responsible for training and teaching newly hired officers in policies as well as daily patrol procedures. I evaluated and provided training to these new officers. I also assisted as an "acting watch commander" while the duty sergeant was on vacation. I would supervise the patrol team; provide input to officers when they needed assistance in making decisions, reviewing written daily reports and approving those reports.

I conducted searches for contraband and provided security for inmates. Conducted inmate counts, and supervises offenders in housing, work, and other areas. I maintained security of various assigned areas involving long periods of sitting and standing. I maintained custody and security of offenders including observing actions of offenders in various work and living locations within the unit.
