Public Art Coordinator
CurrentI oversee the public art program for Colorado's sixth largest city (pop. 144,000). I oversee the entire process including budget, planning, selection process, contracts, permits, installation, and maintenance of the public art collection.Accomplishments include:• Leading the city's first public art tour• Creating accessible digital resources to allow virtual explorations of the city's collection.In 2024, I have overseen the following public art installations:• "RAE" by Volkan Alkonoglu (I-25 and E. 136th Ave.)• "Periodic Reflection" by Pneuhaus Studios (Sky Park)• "Thornton SkyDance" by Seth Palmiter (Carpenter Recreation Center)• "Skywards" by Skunk Control (Thornton Active Adult Center)• Title TBD by J. Aaron Alderman (Grange Hall Creek Open Space - Dec. 2024)I work closely with internal and external stakeholders, including elected officials, city personnel, community members, design professionals, contractors, architects, engineers, and commissioned artists, to ensure the successful delivery of quality art that contributes to Thornton's unique identity as one of Colorado's fastest growing cities.
