Here are just some highlights of my recent experiences as a Full-Time Small Business Owner and how my 10+ years as a DOD contractor has helped make it possible.•Project Management - Assist with project planning; identify personnel, software and computational (processing) prerequisites and customer’s schedule/deadlines, to provide cost estimates based on the total amount of hours.- Create detailed invoices that serve as the Scope of Work (SOW), prepare progress reports/presentations, conduct/attend meetings, track performance hours, monitor the budget & schedule and aid with consistent customer interactions.•Engineering Design & Product Development - Identify the project needs/requirements by directing initial meetings with customer to gather detailed notes and request available documentation, images and/or previous CAD files. - Create or modify CAD models, prepare geometry/model [generate mesh, assign material properties, boundary conditions & loads], run simulations/analysis, interpret and report results to customer, discuss design modifications and generate path forward. - Produce machine (manufacturing) or fabrication drawings for each component, sub-assembly, and full assembly, provide detailed notes, quantities, materials, holes, threads, welds & surface finish specifications as well as a BOM (bill of materials).•Business Development - Attend networking events, conferences, trainings, workshops, and business accelerators. - Perform market research on industry & competitors, identify potential customers, business partners & technology providers and support proposal development for government grants & procurement programs.
