I am an Associate Professor of Epidemiology at the Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics, College of Public Health, University of the Philippines Manila (UP Manila). I obtained my PhD in Epidemiology degree from the Department of Epidemiology, School of Public Health, Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island, USA in 2024 as a US National Institutes of Health - Fogarty International Center Fellow. I graduated with a Doctor of Medicine degree from the UP Manila College of Medicine under the Integrated Liberal Arts and Medicine Program (INTARMED), and a Master of Public Health degree from the UP Manila College of Public Health. My substantive research interests include infectious diseases (particularly HIV/AIDS and tuberculosis), mental health, women’s health, and the health of sexual and gender minority populations. My methodological foci and interests include quantitative causal inference, including the application of econometric methods in causal inference, systematic reviews and meta-analyses, and clinical practice guideline development.
