After 30 years in secondary schools teaching music I finally made the move for independence. I set up 15 keyboards with headphones and spend the day with students learning to perform and compose. Mainly working in Primary Schools I often cover staff PPA to deliver the music curriculum. Though workshops can be one offs they tend to be several weeks worth of work and very enthusiastically received (no other provider delivers sessions similar). Hebden Bridge
I work with the famous ‘Hebden Bridge Junior Band’ as the Musical Director of both the A and B bands, a position I have held for seven years. We tour every two years in the summer holidays and have performed all over the Calder Valley and as far afield as the Czech Republic and Dublin. In July 2008 we performed on the “One Show” along with the “Hypnotic Brass Ensemble” who were on tour in England and we were recently on ”Look North” celebrating the 400th anniversary of the pack horse bridge at Hebden Bridge.
