For the past ten years, I have been on call at Boulder Community Health facilities to treat inpatients for pain relief, pre-op and post-op care, medsurg needs, oncology support, PCU/ICU care, and ED care. Primarily, though, my skills are utilized in L&D, Mom-Baby, and even NICU. I am often called in to assist during births to enhance induction, reestablish stalled labor, offer pain control, relax and encourage mamas, and treat everything from preeclampsia and breech to post C-section ileus and neonatal jaundice. I love the fast pace of working in an acute care setting, and my skills are best utilized here. Consequently I decided to obtain my BSN in order to provide L&D and Mom-Baby nursing care to patients full-time.
