About Anne Valkenburg
Ik ben een sociale, enthousiaste, leergierige AIOS radiotherapie. In de loop van mijn opleiding is mijn interesse in de brachytherapie ontstaan: de combinatie van radiotherapie én wat meer "hands-on" werken. Toen ik de kans kreeg om een PhD-traject op het gebied van brachytherapie bij rectumcarcinoom te gaan doen, heb ik deze kans met beide handen aangegrepen. Sinds mei 2023 ben ik zowel AIOS als PhD-student!

Tijdens dit keuze-coschap liep ik in de ochtenden visite op de afdeling interne oncologie. In de middagen leerde ik de oncologie in bredere zin beter kennen. Dit omdat ik tijdens mijn reguliere coschappen weinig met oncologie in aanraking was gekomen en ik hier (met name) vanwege mijn interesse in radiotherapie wel geïnteresseerd in was. Zo liep ik bijvoorbeeld mee op het borstcentrum en het Zuidwest Radiotherapeutisch Instituut (ZRTI), maar ook met een nucleair geneeskundige.
