During the time at Fraunhofer IPT I created an automated measurement method with various data acquisition hardware and software to investigate the topography of welding beats and products created with LMD processes (Laser Metal Deposition). This program is created inside MATLAB to perform the analysis and visualization of the acquired data. The topography of the product is measured by a sensor produced by Keyence and communicates with a vBox. The vBox is a data acquisition device designed by Fraunhofer and produced by Traimec. This acquisition device is communicating with the MATLAB program. Eventually, these systems combined form a complex automated measurement program to measure accurately (0.01mm) the dimensions and topography of LMD products."
