• Schedule and place purchase orders for items required to support the sales forecast and assure timely product delivery to our customers. Scheduling will be based on demand and sales forecasts, Master Production Schedule and MRP.• Follow execution of purchase orders, while the supply remains open, with the suppliers.• Coordinate and/or support the resolution of all issues that may arise with items including delivery, expediting, receiving, and MRP issues. • Maintain the accuracy of purchase item data and planning parameters driving the ERP system.• Keep all involved departments informed about item availability. Perform weekly review of supply gaps and communicate gaps identified that cannot be resolved. • Confirms existing supply plan is relevant throughout monthly execution cycle, and participates in monthly S&OP activities to re-plan longer horizon.• Review sales against forecasts. Communicate with sales team at a minimum of once per month when sales pace is significantly ahead or behind forecast, in order to modify future planned purchases.• Monitor supplier performance through KPI metrics and coordinate/execute with the support of Commodity Manager. Corrective actions for unsatisfactory performance may be used.• Review service delivery to the customer, and cancelations due to insufficient product. • Monitor item inventory utilization to ensure the business needs are met.• Maintain accurate history files for assigned items and for supplier communications. • Support design changes and assist with implementation of new products and Engineering Changes, by timing purchases of transition items. • Support or initiate programs to improve on time delivery and increased inventory turns, as relevant to business needs.
