In 1980, I began my career in the concreting industry as a subcontractor. In 1986, I founded Undercon, a company specialising in underground concrete supply. Undercon has since completed contracts for leading developers, construction, and mining companies across the NSW and QLD East Coast of Australia.From 2001 to 2004, Undercon completed various projects for Roche Mining at Wambo Mine, Werris Creek, and Balbone. The projects included open cut coal mine heavy equipment workshops, wash down bays and sumps, bunded fuel farms, comms towers, and admin infrastructure.In 2004, I transitioned to a concreting project at the inseam drift at Anglo Coals Dartbrook Mine in the Hunter Valley. Undercon went on to complete projects for UGM Engineers at over 15 different mine sites across the NSW and QLD East coast over the next five years.In 2009, Undercon began servicing several Xstrata, Glencore, Anglo, and BMA Underground Collieries directly, starting at Beltana Highwall Mine at Broke NSW. Our workforce of 25 specialist concreters and office staff successfully completed contracts for these mine owners.In 2010, I lodged my first patent for the Concrete Mixer Kibble, which revolutionised the way concrete was transported and placed underground, making it safer and faster. I currently hold two more patents, one for a Collapsible Silo Trailer for bulk storage of cement or flowable products and the other for the Wet Bag designed for the storage of bagged concrete mix materials.
