I have over twenty years of experience in executive and non-executive roles in the global clean energy sector, with a focus on development, political and regulatory risk management, external engagement, and thought leadership. I am currently Senior Fellow at the Global Wind Energy Council (GWEC), helping to represent all aspects of the renewable energy sector to governments and other partners. I am a member of the Board of the Ocean Energy Pathway, helping to accelerate the deployment of offshore wind, globally.I joined the Board of the Crown Estate Scotland in 2024 as that organisation looks to build on the opportunities presented by the development of Scotland’s offshore renewable energy resources. Previously, I was the Global Head of Corporate Affairs at Mainstream Renewable Power, a leading renewable energy company that develops, builds, and operates utility scale wind and solar plants across emerging markets. Prior to Mainstream I was UK CEO of the green energy utility, Airtricity.I am a former Chair of the UK Offshore Wind Programme Board and RenewableUK, and have held various leadership positions in other national and international industry and government bodies including WindEurope and IRENA's Coalition for Action. I am involved in the cultural heritage sector and served as a Board Trustee at National Museums Scotland from 2017 to 2024. As Marchmont Herald, I am the senior Officer of Arms in Scotland.I am a frequent speaker and writer on energy and heritage issues, and have appeared in multiple broadcast and print media outlets, such as the BBC, ITN, the Times, and the Guardian.
