In February 2021 I started working for Hiper Ltd, where I became a helpdesk engineer as well as a software developer. During my time at Hiper I gained a deeper understanding of how to build web-based application using the Django framework, as well as working with PHP in order to better work with the head developer. I also achieved my Level 8 through QA while working at Hiper, who sent me on many courses such as Networking, PHP Advanced, and others.Due to being a Helpdesk engineer as well as a software developer, I gained extensive experience in dealing with clients, and also learned about how to deal with IT issues, both software related as well as hardware. I also worked on our clients’ servers in order to solve problems which we were contacted about both through Hiper’s ticketing system, and through phone calls.

In October 2019 I joined Asura Financial Technologies as an apprentice software developer where I gained experience working with a team, as well as new skills working with frameworks such as Vue JS, Django, and expanding my knowledge in Python and HTML. I also learned how to code with Visual Basic, and JavaScript while working on projects I would be set, such as my own project developing a full stack UI web-app to help both internal and external stakeholders process cash movement requests between client accounts and company accounts. During the development of this project I had senior developers check my work, and I’d host weekly web-conferences to internal clients to show them my progress and how the program works, before it went to live testing. I attended classes in Web Development, Python, Database, and PHP whilst working for Asura through QA, who provided the course and qualification for my level 6 apprenticeship. Asura also educated me in great detail about the financial markets, I gained my CISI Level 2 qualification, learning about Leveraged Investments, Derivatives, Bonds, Funds, etc, as well as having weekly phone calls with Matt, the COO, who has had many years hands on experience in the financial sector. I also set up a helpdesk platform for the office so that employees could raise tickets when they encountered a problem with clients, to then help the company calculate which clients are taking up the most time and therefore costing the most money.
