This role developed my skills, knowledge and understanding in all areas of the construction industry. Willmott Dixon gave me the opportunity to experience the operations involved in a live construction site whilst shadowing the construction managers. I was further involved with pre-construction procedures and tasks to broaden my experiences. This role developed my ability to show integrity and understanding to those around me. Empathy and working in harmony with co-workers are critical for the success of a project and, through experience, I have developed these skills to a very high standard. I recognise the need to be well organised and reliable; I am well used to meeting deadlines, prioritising workloads and being proactive. I put these skills to good use when planning and designing my own mock construction programme to be presented to the Willmott Dixon team during my industrial placement.
