I am a well presented highly driven physics student with industry experience. I have a strong interest in research and enjoy encountering new challenging problems alone or as part of a team.I am currently undertaking PhD. research at DCU as part of The National Centre for Plasma Science and Technology. My PhD is focussed on gyrofluid simulations of filamentary instabilities in tokamak plasmas. I have gained a good basis in C++ (STL, MPI, OpenMP, NetCDF) and Python (NumPy, SciPy, Matplotlib, etc.) on distributed systems creating and managing large, structured datasets.I have completed a B.Sc. (Bachelor Honours Degree) in Applied Physics at DCU. The skills acquired from this course include problem-solving, mathematical proficiency, data analysis, experiment design and technical reporting as well as signal-processing. I also have a good basis in C++, C and python and experience in Matlab and VHDL.I have repeatedly worked in industry where I have collaborated with a large group of professionals from various disciplines and gained experience in multi-layer PCB design using (Altium Designer), stereolithography, laser etching, lean manufacturing and data presentation.
