Key achievements- Maintaining a high level of equipment uptime (vessel uptime better than 97% over the last 12 months) with no LTI under my supervision.

Ichthys Gas Export Pipe Line Project

- Repairs and maintenance to vessel equipment above and below deck, including rigid pipe lay handling equipment.Key achievements- Repairs and forward thinking (improvement of pipe work and valving to standby by units) applied to pipe transfer hydraulic systems to ensure maximum availability.

Mcdermott Caspian Contractors Inc. (Mcci) - Azerbiajan

- Maintaining the general upkeep of the barge through shore side support, overcoming any technical difficulties and ensuring the vessel was in a safe and productive state at all times.Key achievements- Successful implementation and development of an official corrective action tracking register, where barge mechanical faults/inadequacies could be logged, shared, rectified and authorised.

North West Shelf, Western Australia And Bass Strait

Employed on the Derrick Barge 30, Pluto LNG north-west shelf, Kipper Tuna Turrum Bass Strait (Brunel), Macedon phase 1 and 2 north-west shelf projects including mobilisation works in Batam, Indonesia and tows to and from site. - Safely and efficiently operate, maintain and overhaul all barge equipment as required.Key achievements- Saved costly repairs and downtime replacing components found to be at service limits before programmed maintenance scheduling replacement on diesel prime power generation engines and barge fresh water making machines.

Persian Gulf And Asia

Employed on the Derrick Barge 26 in South East Asia with various projects in the Persian Gulf, Malaysia, Thailand and Vietnam.- Organising and prioritising the shift work program and directly supervising a team of Second Engineers, Mechanics and Oilers in the operation, maintenance and repair of barge equipment. - Directing the work flow of Electricians, Store Men, Machinists and Radio Technician.- Maintaining barge pipe laying equipment.- Providing mechanical technical expertise and support. - Assuming responsibility for fuel bunkering to and from resupply vessels and anchor handling tugs.Key achievements- All tasks completed without incident to mechanical crew and during 2008 achieved 99.8% barge mechanical uptime.

Antarctica And The Sub-Antarctic

Work was undertaken over multiple expeditions of twelve to twenty month durations, situated at various Antarctic and Sub-Antarctic locations including, Mawson, Davis, Casey, Macquarie Island and the Amery Ice Shelf. Progression through Expedition Mechanic and Senior Expedition Mechanic roles. - Participation in station life and work as part of the management team.- Provision of support to station, field and logistical operations as required. - Managing individual performance of mechanical trades people by assessing behavior, work competency, providing constructive feedback, counseling and reporting. - Installing, commissioning, operating and maintaining power generation facilities, mobile and stationary mechanical plant.- Co-ordination of ‘on station’ refueling operations, both day to day and during station re-supply.- Provision of mechanical engineering services such as fitting and machining, welding, etc.- Maintenance of a wide range of small ancillary plant.- Search and rescue team leader and fire and rescue deputy and team member.Key achievements- Overcoming many mechanical deficiencies in science program equipment, i.e. making new or modifying equipment to suit the environment. Made measurable changes to station power (fuel) consumption implementing simple energy efficiency strategies.
