I am responsible for three maintenance programs including the civil structural maintenance program, corrosion under insulation and process sewer integrity programs. Yearly program budget are funded between 7 to 12 million per year. Responsibilities include planning for repairs and inspection for the next three to five years based upon risk and all associated activities with execution of the current yearly goals in performing required inspection and repairs Planning duties include deploying yearly project list, fostering interactive schedules, overseeing engineering, obtaining construction estimate and communicating plan with stakeholders. Execution activities include working with operating department, job rep and risk analysis to review work activities and establish control of work practices to obtain work permits. Overseeing all construction activities including scope changes, critical path management schedule and budget compliance. Ensure project controls are in place, conduct regular schedule status meeting and, conduct and all QA/QC procedures before project is closed out.

Managed capital budgets for US Steel Gary Works that included three locations East Chicago Tin, Midwest and Gary West. Responsible for devloping and implementation of all capital projects. Including developing project plan, Contractor evaluation and approval. Review and approval of contractors site specific plans, developing proactive project goals and safety metrics. I was hired as Sr. mechanical lead responsible for the mechanical design, installation commissioning and training for a new 22” medium section mill. The mill was designed to streamline operations by converting the product lines from two mills into one. This mill was capable of producing up to 1 million ton of flats, angles, channels, and beams. Duties included:* Responsible for 24” structural mill reheat furnace operation and maintenance. This included improving energy efficiency, developing and implementing operating work instructions, developing, implementing, and training maintenance personal on preventive and predictive maintenance programs. * Responsible for a $2 million reheat furnace restoration. Duties included defining project objectives and scope, budgets and schedules. In addition include writing specifications and contracts, negotiating commercial contracts, project oversight, tracking, and reporting.During Chapter 11 Bankruptcy reorganization, I was responsible for developing operating budgets, tracking expenditures and projecting cash flow requirements for the operational vice president. * Responsible for identifying, planning, and organizing process improvement projects during chapter 11 reorganization.* Responsible for engineering and specification review of new mill equipment, development of maintenance programs, identification of critical spare parts, installation and commissioning of equipment, and training maintenance personnel and operators on proper use and care of equipment.* Responsible for developing start-up plan scenarios for production ramp-up of new equipment and shut-down of existing equipment.* Responsible for planning and scheduling the procurement, delivery, turning time requirements and cash flow requirements for the 22” mill rolls.

Hired as the Department Manager supervisor responsible for the roll shop and roll build-up during the planning, designing, installing, and commissioning of a new SMS medium section mill with an 850,000-ton per year capacity that produce flats, angles, channels, and beams. Duties included:* Leading the roll shop department include guides shop and build – supervision of 22 employees and 3 day managers. * Responsible for overseeing the Project management activities for the design, installation, and commissioning of all roll shop and build-up area buildings and equipment. Equipment included four lathes retrofitted with computer numerical controls (CNC), twenty-five mill stands, and fifty-one sets of chock assemblies.* Responsible for developing schedules, coordinating of engineering, and procuring all rolls and guide equipment. Created roll-turning schedules and performed an integral part of production planning for all products rolled including flats, angles, channels, and beams.* Documented all losses associated with shipping damage of mill equipment, recovered $10 million. Claim included qualifying repair facilities used, estimating restoration work needed, assembling invoices and shipping documents, calculating damages, and developing the formal document.* Lead for all mechanical equipment damage repairs caused in shipping accidents. This included purchasing over $2 million of steel fabrications and reconditioning $5 million of chock bearing inventory.

Bayou Steel, Florida Steel and J-Pitt Steel – Performed roll pass and guide design.Laurentide Inc., a Machine Shop and Fabricator – Worked as a sales engineer to develop Nucor Steel Berkley as a core customer. Represented roll sales and other miscellaneous casting.
