https://linktr.ee/adamgetz 🎥 📸 ✍️I've been editing videos since I was twelve years old, cutting my teeth on Windows Movie Maker - a piece of software specifically designed for camcorder-crazy fathers and bored teenagers lacking a proper internet connection. When I first started, I didn't even have a camera; I took the sample video that came packaged with the software (a pleasant stock video of a beaming, clean-cut suburban family visiting a zoo) and re-cut it over and over and over again, creating an endless portfolio of unique and entertaining videos, ranging from comical parodies (complete with homemade sound effects) to horror movie trailers. Perched in front of a bulbous, dented computer monitor for hours at a time, my eyes absorbing the waves of radiation emitting from the dim screen, I developed a feverous and unquenchable thirst for cutting bits of video clips together to create mildly amusing – and occasionally absurd – movies. I was hooked.Over the years, I’ve made short films, networked at film festivals, grown my skillset, and have worked with many wonderful organizations and people that have furthered my education and fostered my constant striving for improvement and self-realization in a career field that has remained my one true passion. Not only have I learned how to value my work in dollars and cents, but I have uncovered personal truths about myself that have helped to guide my creative output and encourage my growth as an artist and a human being.
