I completed the Leighton Contractors/Ventia graduate program at the start of 2016. Produced a pavement report for the motorway from raw data of laser profilometer and SCRIM testing. As a result of the report and recommendations, shot basting was completed on the tunnel carriageway.

Projects included: a noise wall as part of the noise abatement program, slope stabilisation utilising gabion baskets and a coffer dam, drainage rehabilitation, pram ramp installations, footpath modifications and feasibility studies for 4 pedestrian bridges. I also had a key role in the handover and quality control process for improvement projects. I assisted and drove the set up of the processes for project handovers and closeout.

This role involved regular interaction with the client (Airport Motorway Limited) and the subcontractor (Downer) to deliver strong results for all parties involved. During my time on the project I significantly improved the position and efficiency of the QA/QC process; I also gained a technical knowledge of asphalt by utilising RMS standards, specifically R116 and R119. I was also involved with other adhoc tasks such as project management, small budget management, managing subcontractors, organising works and traffic management/planning.
