Tutoring role as a demonstrator for ENGR1711 Engineering Design. Responsibilities include weekly classes where CAD content is delivered in a presentation format, as well as individual tutoring as students encounter issues. Marking of homework and tests is also done, communicating with other tutors to ensure grading is consistent.Students engage with design concepts through the use of Autodesk Inventor to develop their CAD skills and produce increasingly difficult CAD models as the weeks progress. Marking is important in this role as students need immediate feedback and marking to help guide their learning and hone their skills.A semester long project engages the students in a collaborative group project with the aim of designing a product using the CAD and design skills acquired throughout the semester. Focus is placed on the use of universal design and human factors, and the use of CAD to communicate these ideas.
