Managing the delivery and construction of multiple bridge structures, currently working primarily on HS2.

Primary role was to manage the temporary works and lifting operations on the £8.5 million Devon Place Footbridge Project

The role involved managing the various elements of temporary works associated with the bridge installations on projects across the country. This ranged from coordinating design works; managing the implementation of temporary works; planning and producing lift plans and crane installation schemes along with extensive involvement at tender and ECI stage also.

Responsible for proposing and developing construction methodologies at tender stage for a wide variety of steel bridges and structures and producing corresponding cost estimates. The role involved routinely visiting sites, meeting with clients and offering value engineering input into both design and construction as well as producing crane studies / lift plans, temporary works schemes, works programmes and plant and labour resource schedules to support tenders.

During my time on this prestigious project I was responsible for the construction of three bridge superstructures including the showpiece 120m span thrust arch "Gateway Bridge", the largest of its kind in Wales, as well as a 50m span plate girder highway bridge and a 50m span architectural composite deck footbridge.Duties included subcontractor package management, production and approval of RAMS and ITP’s, producing works programmes, producing and approving lift plans as a qualified AP, controlling temporary works as an appointed TWC and managing site engineers.I also deputised with the management of the £12 million steelwork package covering a total of thirteen bridges across the project.

Responsible for the development and production of temporary works schemes and corresponding cost estimates at tender stage for the installation and refurbishment of various highways, railway, modular and footbridge structures by a variety of methods such as mobile and crawler crane lifting both from land and from marine plant, SPMT installation and launching.

Three years spent on rotation through various departments in the company whilst on the graduate training scheme including time spent in temporary works, technical services, commercial, project management and site.
