This involved preparing risk assessments, method statements and lift plans during the pre-construction phase, coordinating staff, materials and paperwork during construction as well post-construction as-built surveys.

Aldhurst Farm Habitat Creation SchemeThe EDF funded project involved developing arable farmland into a new wetland and acidic grassland habitat, as a habit recreation project prior to the development of Sizewell C . My role as materials engineer involved keeping detailed records on the earthworks movements, checking as-built quality and collecting soil samples for chemical analysis. I set up the sites GPS base station which connected with all the earthworks machinery and Trimble GPS rover. I also mentored a junior engineer on using surveying equipment.

GEOFIRMA SOILS ENGINEERINGI gained experience working in a UKAS accredited laboratory for CA Blackwells partner soil stabilisation company - Geofirma Ltd. I learnt standard soil classification and test procedures such as CBR and MCV to determine the performance of lime stabilised clays.PRE-CONTRACTS ESTIMATINGAs part of CA Blackwells estimating team, I was involved in the tendering process for a number of earthworks, highways and housing schemes. I was assigned to doing take-off measurements and sending sub contract enquiry packages. I also participated in planning, learning how to use programming software Asta Powerproject and drafting method statements. FINBERRY VILLAGE - S278 AGREEMENT WORKSOn a contract in Ashford, Kent, I worked as an assistant engineer for a S278 highways infrastructure project which involved constructing an interim junction and roundabout. My engineering duties involved surveying and setting out with Trimble GPS survey equipment and corresponding with a variety of sub-contractors.

I worked as a part-time sales assistant at an electrical store called Bennetts during the busy Christmas sales where I served customers on a wide range of products. I was allocated a section on cameras which I had to routinely keep tidy and replenish any low stock. For any large purchases, I handled setting up customer monthly payment plans and arranged customer home deliveries.
