Nocterra is a small environmental consultancy specialising in the fields of artificial light and marine turtles. Our aim is to apply our passion for conservation in innovative ways to protect vulnerable wildlife, while working towards a sustainable future.

As the service lead for the artificial light assessment division at Pendoley Environmental, I led the team responsible for development of novel monitoring and modelling technology, and assessing the impact of artificial light on wildlife, with a specific focus on marine turtles. I managed a wide array of artificial light projects across Australia and was a co-author of the Commonwealth National Pollution Guidelines for Wildlife

Development and use of digital cameras and other sensors to capture the night sky and assess the impact of artificial light on biological systems. Project management and leading field surveys including teams of volunteers with the Gorgon Flatback Turtle Tagging program, and undertaking other associated marine turtle surveys including hatchling orientation, incubation success and track census.
