World Science ScholarWorld Science Festival Jun 2023 - PresentNew York, United StatesWorld Science Scholars, a prestigious program of the World Science Festival, selects a small group of national and international high school students with extraordinary mathematical talent and provides them with an unparalleled opportunity to apply their abilities to unexplored disciplines. Guided by Nobel Laureates and Breakthrough Prize winners, best-selling authors, and world-renowned experts working at the cutting edge of their fields, scholars examine ways that advanced mathematics skills can be applied to solve complex challenges in a wide range of scientific fields. The college-level courses I took are: - " Space, Time, and Matter" with Professor Brian Greene - Columbia University- "Development of Emotion Regulation Neurobiology and the Role of Caregiving" with Professor Nim Tottenham - Columbia University- "How Black Holes Became Real" with Professor Priyamvada Natarajan - Yale University- "Worldwide Entrepreneurship: Charting Your Path" with Professor Christina Pellicane - Princeton University- "The Computational Universe: A New Kind of Science" with Professor Stephen Wolfram- "Opening the Infrared Treasure Chest with JWST" with Nobel Laureate John Mather -
Junior Academy ScholarThe New York Academy Of Sciences Sep 2023 - PresentNew York, United States"The Junior Academy is a project-based learning program where students form international teams and work with STEM experts through an online community platform. Students participate in innovation challenges where they collaborate under the guidance of STEM mentors to design solutions to real-world problems. Students and mentors can participate from anywhere in the world.Challenges are sponsored by industry-leading companies and are preceded by a kick-off week, which provides preparation for the challenges and builds relevant skills in areas such as research methods, design thinking and data analysis." -
Global Youth AmbassadorTheirworld Jul 2023 - PresentLondon Area, United KingdomFounder of the STEM4Them initiative- spearheaded and designed with math & physics teachers a robust curriculum inspired by the International Baccalaureate program- tutored 15 students in Chatila and Tripoli refugee camps advanced math & physics aligned with the designed programAdvocacy and Public Policy: SDG 4 Quality Education - cultivated intergenerational equity by mitigating educational disparities and amplifying the voices of the next generation- partnered with prominent researchers and published reports - campaigned to shift the global mindset around the importance of youth education By joining forces with youth from 130+ countries around the world through this 2-year program, we are committed to unleashing the potential of the next generation and creating opportunities for the most marginalized through education. Our goal is to ensure every child has the best start in life and a safe place to learn and the skills needed for the future. Founder Of SolesparkInternational College Sep 2022 - PresentBeirut Governorate, LebanonMission Statement: Our mission is to create a sustainable mechanical model that generates renewable electricity by walking on it. By bridging the energy gap, we aim to create every watt for wellness and to foster awareness on alternative energy sources. Our target is underprivileged communities with minimal to no access to electricity, and we aim to use harvested electricity from the footfall mechanism for lighting and charging low-scale appliances.Journey from ideation to conceptualization and implementation:-conducted primary and secondary research-conducted a series of interviews alongside the technical team with engineering professors at the Maroun Semaan Department of Engineering at the American University of Beirut to assess the feasibility of our product-designed a CAD model of the prototype using SolidWorks software after brainstorming several potential designs with the technical team-kick-started the model assembly with my team at the STEAM Lab and Physical Plant at International College; welded the metallic body of the model; bought the gears, springs, sprockets, bearings, rack and pinion, and chain using AGC seed money; assembled in the STEAM Lab with zero carbon footprint-partnered with the Amlieh technical school and leveraged their advanced tools and machinery to troubleshoot the model and enhance its assembly -launched the first prototype at the International College Green Field entrance, a highly dense locomotive area on campus, to monitor the efficiency of the model during the testing phase; generated 12 Watts on average for every step-collaborated with the non-governmental organization (NGO) “Tahaddi” that caters for the educational needs of students at the outskirts of the Chatila refugee camp; implemented our fully operational model there after interviewing the Deputy Director & scouting the best location for our model; explained to students learning at the NGO how our model works and fostered awareness on alternative energy sources -
