Director, Safety Initiatives
CurrentAs the Director of Safety Initiatives at the MHA Keystone Center, I oversee all aspects of the Patient Safety Organization (PSO), a specialized arm of the greater Keystone Center dedicated to collecting, analyzing and learning from adverse event reporting data. I lead a dynamic team of safety professionals in a variety of initiatives that examine adverse events and inform the development of recommended practices and tools to mitigate future harm. My responsibilities focus primarily on the strategic planning of patient safety activities to ensure continued improvement across the healthcare continuum. In my role, I supervise the development and deployment of patient safety improvement efforts within the scope of high reliability, requiring the close study and application of federal protections under the Patient Safety and Quality Improvement Act (PSQIA). I help establish partnerships with various governmental agencies at the state and federal levels along with private organizations. Furthermore, I provide team leadership support and guidance in the design and deployment of innovative patient safety solutions.
