Assistant Golf Professional at The Resort at Glade Springs. Glade Springs is a premier 54 hole course facility tucked in the heart of the Appalachian Mountains of West Virginia. I assisted in managing staff and day to day golf operations resort wide. While there I enjoyed making sure or members needs were met, as well as exceeding the expectations of the guests! I began working for the West Virginia Golf Association as a PJ Boatwright Intern in March of 2015. Early into my internship, I participated in the Rules of Golf seminar at the USGA Golf House. While there I sharpened my already existing Rules of Golf knowledge. The experience truly confirmed my desire to have a career in the sport of golf. Throughout my experience in the internship program, I was responsible for tournament setup, running operations, and regulating the Rules of Golf throughout the state of West Virginia. Some other duties of mine include: developing a strong working knowledge of membership services with the (GHIN) Handicapping System, using the Tournament Pairing Program (TPP), and membership sales. Not only have I had responsibilities in amateur championships, I have also devoted my time working closely with “The First Tee of West Virginia” learning life coaching skills and the pillars for which it stands. My time with the WVGA goes much deeper than competitive golf; it has awarded me an opportunity to give back to the community by volunteering countless hours at events ranging from the premier stages of the PGA TOUR (Greenbrier Classic) to charitable fundraising events that benefit the association itself and the community.
