Finkelstein Lab

ABI8(Abscisic Acid Insensitive-8) is a protein involved in plant development and stress signaling, possibly by effects on protein trafficking. Previous studies showed that ABI8 interacted with a subunit of the coatomer complex, which regulates transport between the Golgi and ER. The coatomer complex is well-characterized in yeast and animals, but not in plants. My research involves determining whether ABI8 is consistently co-localized with coatomer subunits, and if their localization is co-dependent. Received $750 UCSB Undergraduate Research and Creative Activities grant to fund Abscisic Acid Insensitive-8 research
