About Adam Smith

After many years experience in hotel, reservation and revenue management, information technology, graphic design, search engine optimization, telecommunications and travelling I am currently enjoying life in Supernatural British Columbia, Canada as a Business & Product Analyst for Whistler Blackcomb : Vail Resorts.My passion for all things 'tech' started when I enrolled in a Diploma of Information Technology (Interactive Multimedia) back in 1998. Working with such programs as MS Visual Basic, Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator and dabbling in basic HTML (notepad).After completing my education I was able to secure employment through until 2004 in search engine optimization, website design (Dreamweaver/Homepage) keyword analysis, banner design and advertising/paid search engine inclusion.Shifting from website and search engines, I branched out into the telecommunications sector and worked in sales and management for the next 3 years, dealing in mobile and internet technology.From 2010 - 2015 I was involved in the hospitality sector, front office management and finally Reservations and Revenue Management.Software used includes OPERA PMS and MyFidelio, RoomMaster PMS, RDP (Resort Data Processing) PMS, Levart Channel Manager and EZYield Channel Manager.Joining Whistler Blackcomb in 2015 I rediscovered my web design passion and keenly enrolled in and learned as much as I could about HTML5, CSS3, Javascript, Python and SQL.For the past 2 years I have managed 2-3 direct reports and led the Activities and Ancillary Line of Business for Product Operations, whilst spending time developing in SQL and PowerBI.I am a bubbly, energetic and enthusiastic individual looking to further my knowledge and build a strong foundation towards a career that leverages SQL and PowerBI skills.Thanks for taking the time to view my profile and if my experience interests you please join my network or contact me directly.
