I recently completed my MSc. in Mathematical Science with my research focused on Cosmology and analysis of the Cosmic Microwave Background (CMB). Before this, I completed a BSc. in Theoretical Physics, both from Maynooth University. Over the course of my time as an undergrad and postgrad, I have thoroughly enjoyed studying and excelling in the areas of Mathematics and Theoretical Physics, while also taking on modules in other areas such as Computer Science and Statistics. I enjoy taking the problem solving and analytical skill that are developed through a physics education into other areas. My undergraduate research was focussed on a physics based analysis of roll call voting data, taking these skills into the area of political analysis. I’ve personally been very inspired by the work of William Spearman who brought the skill set he developed in physics into the world of football analytics at Liverpool FC. I have extensive experience in a variety of programming languages such as Python, R, SQL, Julia, C and Java; Using them mainly in the context of statistical, data and mathematical analysis.
