At Bartlett Cocke General Contractors I am involved in the coordination of Building Information Modeling projects starting at preconstruction and on through the actual construction of the building. The use of the most advanced and up to date technology has allowed our projects to be constructed in the most cost effective way for all stakeholders involved in the project.During preconstruction I work with the design team in the coordination of conflicts and clashes with the various A-E disciplines in order to minimize changes involved during the shop drawing and fabrication phase with our trade partners. During this time I am also actively involved in quantity takeoff and estimating of projects using both 2D drawings and the 3D model in order to get the most accurate amounts of finishes and materials for a more exact estimate.During the construction phase, I coordinate with the different trades and again minimize the number of conflicts and clashes in order to create better shop drawings and better fabrication during construction. This process results in less changes in the field again saving time and money.My other tasks include the implementation of mobile technology in the field through the use of PlanGrid. This paperless technology allows for more efficient use of storing all information in one place for everyone involved during the construction phase.We also used other various 3D tools to create renderings and animations for Site Logistics Planning and Marketing.

At WestEast Design Group I provided support and direction in several different capacities. My initial role of 3D Visualization expanded to cover all areas of office production, even venturing into areas that are not directly Architecture related.I coordinated the development and implementation of database software programming to Motorola Handheld Devices for the United States Air Force Air Combat Command. We succesfully updated existing RPIE (Real Property Installed Equipment) databases with updated handheld devices using TracerPlus software.I assisted in the development of structural drawings for Blast Structures for the Department of Defense using Revit Structure. I provided office support in all phases of the design process from Schematic Design to Construction Documents. Flexibility in the utilization of various software applications also allowed me to help in other areas such as BIM, Pedestrian Traffic Studies, GIS, Gaming Software, Augmented Reality, Photogrammetry, Graphic Design, Marketing, Web Page Design, Research and Development, and Beta Testing of new software through Autodesk.I also provided 3D visualization services for many of our projects. Still Imagery and animations are an essential part of design creation. These tools may be utilized at any stage of the design and construction process. 2D or 3D stereoscopic presentations can help to augment the clients understanding of the project as well as assist architects and designers during the design process. BIM has also taken 3D visualization to a higher level of complexity. Incorporating BIM with 3D visualization creates even more opportunities for real-time exploration of Architecture.
