In this role, I helped organise networking and professional development events advertising career prospects and opportunities in the mining industry for current and prospective metallurgy/chemical engineering students across South East Queensland.

Completed a metallurgy summer vacation program at the Tanami Mill on a FIFO 2:1 roster, gaining experience in Gravity and CIP Gold Recovery.Key Tasks and Responsibilities:• Designed and undertook a sampling regime and laboratory analysis to model the recovery by size of the gravity gold circuit, providing operational recommendations to the metallurgy superintendent.• Modelled the effect of hydrocarbon spills on the adsorption of gold onto activated carbon in the CIP circuit through laboratory testing.• Gained exposure to the International Cyanide Management Code through development and monitoring of a site compliance checklist.• Established a database for isolation of equipment near radiation sources to improve safety of maintenance workers and contractors.

Perform specimen reception, data entry, billing, and slide filing to assist laboratory staff in safe, efficient, and hygienic operations

Completed a three-month Process Engineering Vacation Program on a residential 5:2 roster at the Clermont Open Cut CHPP.Key Tasks and Responsibilities:• Optimised operating parameters of the tailings thickener to decrease water consumption and improve tailings storage by analysing production and laboratory data using SCADA and Microsoft Excel.• Performed daily process plant inspections, weekly sampling, and equipment audits.• Facilitated daily CHPP supervisors meetings on process plant performance.
