Action For Rural Education (ARE) is a NGO based in Ghana that focuses on community-based-development in the education, health, and governance sector.As a Project Officer, I spent my first month in Accra influencing education policy through a coalition of civil society leading up to Ghana's presidential elections. For my remaining 7 months, I was based in central region conducting M&E for an HIV/AIDS project. This included organising community-led stigma reduction activities impacting for rural farmers, impacting over 6,000 people.

What unites us is a commitment to working with the world's poor and vulnerable, and a belief that we can make the world a more peaceful, just and prosperous place – together.As part of the Membership and Standards Team, I demonstrated event coordination and skills by organising InterAction’s annual three-day International Development forum with Muhammad Yunus as the keynote speaker. In addition, I provided support to InterAction’s membership recruitment efforts and liaised with NGOs, government officials and agencies for working group meetings.
