I lead a team of policy experts and emerging thought leaders to deliver a strategic approach to Asic’s policy advice, guidance and legislative instruments functions.Some key areas of focus include regulation of crypto, BNPL and Asic industry funding.

As part of the leadership group within the Strategic Policy Department, my role is to guide and support a team of highly experienced and accomplished direct reports to drive ASIC's key goals across regulatory and internal policy, as well as its strategic communications initiatives

Working with two direct reports as part of the leadership group of the International Strategy Team, I was responsible for:- Reviewing and preparing briefings, including clear strategic advice, to support the participation of senior ASIC executives in key international regulatory forums;- Driving and supporting international regulatory policy initiatives, particularly via the International Organisation of Securities Commissions (IOSCO);- Supporting internal stakeholders as they liaised with relevant international bodies, as well as maintaining relationships with key international stakeholders; and- Providing updates on international regulatory developments to senior ASIC leadership.This role was at the heart of ASIC's engagement with the global regulatory reform agenda.

This was a temporary assignment implementing over-the-counter (OTC) derivatives policy. In particular, in this role I was responsible for developing policy in relation to derivatives transaction reporting as part of the G20 OTC derivatives mandate.

As a senior member of ASIC's Investment Banks Team, I was responsible for supervising compliance reviews of our stakeholders, responding to breaches and complaints and mentoring and supervising junior staff.

I started at ASIC in 2006, as part of its graduate intake. Shortly thereafter, I was appointed as an Analyst in the Compliance Department. Later, after a restructure, I was offered a position in ASIC's Investment Banks Team.

This role was concerned with assisting residential builders to obtain builders warranty insurance, a financial risk insurance product required for registration in Victoria. In this role, I reviewed builders' financial accounts, assisted them in understanding underwriting requirements and liaised with insurers. I left this role to take up a position at ASIC.
