Built and led multi-disciplined teams of experienced engineers developing new product concepts and technologies. Initially for the Obstructive Sleep Apnea product group, developing CPAP devices and associated technologies such as motors, blowers, humidifiers, sensing systems. Then later for the Infant Care group, developing a new hardware platform for the respiratory treatment of newborn babies.In each team, created a culture of engagement, trust and teamwork, which allowed the team to realise its potential to develop exciting and innovative new product concepts and technologies for the business.Developed a deep understanding of the healthcare market, and future market trends, to pre-empt with solutions which address future underserved customer needs.Successfully developed and patented a brand new centrifugal blower and motor for the next generation CPAP which exceeded all targets for cost, performance and manufacturability.Established concept feasibility for several new product platforms.

Embedded software development and hardware design, for several generations of the "Smartdrive"​ washing machine. Covered user interfaces, peripherals, sensors, cycle control, state machines, and finally motor control (3-phase brushless motor). Became the primary expert on motor control and sensing systems for the BLDC motor.Developed several patented sensing and drive techniques using the DC brushless motor in a washing machine application.Developed several in-house tools for performance analysis of the motor, control system and washing machine, which are still in use today.Became the primary technical liaison to Whirlpool Corporation as a part of the technology sharing partnership with F&P. Helped them successfully integrate F&P's direct drive motor technology into their range of washing machines. Involved 3 visits to Whirlpool HQ to work directly with them on the drive and sensing techniques, as well as presentations to the senior executive team to help sell our solutions. Resulted in the first joint patent between the 2 companies (US8042211), and a very successful partnership worth tens of millions of dollars.
