The mission of KIPP Public Schools Northern California is to operate high-achieving public schools in educationally under served communities, developing in our students the knowledge, skills, and character essential to thrive in college, shape their futures, and positively impact the world.There are currently 21 KIPP schools in the Northern California. In these schools, over 7,400 students are being prepared for success in college and the competitive world beyond. These tuition-free, college-preparatory schools are located in the under served neighborhoods of San Francisco, San Jose, San Lorenzo, Redwood City, East Palo Alto, Oakland, and Stockton, CA.Current responsibilities include leading the strategic acquisition and development of real estate to support KIPP's mission and our schools in Northern California. This includes securing long-term leases, purchasing land, managing construction projects, and scouting new school facilities throughout Northern California. The position includes overseeing construction managers, managing project budgets, and negotiating development deals and leases to ensure all KIPP schools have safe, quality learning facilities and are in a strong financial position. Rocketship Education is building a network of high-performing, urban, college-preparatory K-5 charter schools dedicated to our mission to eliminate the achievement gap within our lifetimes.The Rocketship Public School Model combines traditional classroom instruction with Learning Lab, which enables individualized instruction through online adaptive technology and tutors; a parent engagement strategy that allows for advocacy on behalf of all children and their education; and a leadership development program that creates sustainable careers for highly effective educators.Responsibilities include directing selection of sites for Rocketship schools across the US, including negotiation of contracts and leases, analysis of purchase and lease opportunities, managing and developing the entitlement and valuation process, engaging and managing third party consultants, including legal, environmental, appraisal, engineering and CEQA.

Responsible for management of real estate development and investment firm in Oakland, CA, with holdings of over 1m square feet of residential, commercial and industrial space, and investments in an additional 1.4m square feet of real estate in Oakland and throughout the San Francisco Bay Area. Responsibilities include operational and financial management of portfolio, asset and property management, acquisitions, including negotiations and due diligence, dispositions, project management, entitlements, distressed assets, and financing. Responsible for tenant relations, leasing and tenant improvements, as well as relations with municipal agencies and third party consultants. Portfolio includes multi-family, residential, commercial, office and industrial properties in San Francisco Bay area.

Responsible for asset management, portfolio management, financial analysis, due diligence, financing and investment reporting for Bay Area real estate Development Company, with responsibility for transactions and management of assets including over $250m of acquisitions and $160m of dispositions. Managed assets primarily in the self storage sector for individual and institutional real estate funds and responsible for due diligence in 15 US states and Western Europe. Portfolio level responsibility, reviewing performance of assets individually and within the marketplace. Developed and modeled pro-forma financials and cash flow projections for acquisitions, sales, capital expenditure, expense reduction, budgeting and financing decisions. Managed third party consultants including environmental, legal, engineering, and structural, and was responsible for review and approval of reports. Responsible for closing of transactions and financing. Investment Committee Member.

Managed department at San Francisco based waste and resource recovery company. Six direct reports and over 1,300 accounts. Responsible for operations of four solid waste programs, including special events and seasonal programs. Managed operations of processing facility with a 15 person staff, including sales and marketing of commodities. Oversaw 30% growth in customer base. Responsibilities included management of processing facility, quality control, marketing of materials and technical assistance.
