• Lead the vision, strategy, direction and operation of RBC’s global Security Operations Centre (SOC). • Oversee the global development of processes, defensive security tools, vendors and people engaged in the threat management lifecycle over a multi-year horizon.• Lead the development and implementation of our multi-year Cyber Security strategy, framework and roadmap• Provide vision and leadership direction in the optimization, efficiency and quality of the SOC operations, through the use of process automation and reengineering.• Manage execution of large-scale enterprise proactive initiatives to mitigate risks from cyber threats such as online digital fraud, malware, application/infrastructure attacks• Responsible for global facilitation and response 7/24/365 for all major cyber security incidents impacting RBC.• Direct and lead the organization’s global SOC operations for end to end threat management regarding security intelligence, monitoring and incident response• Lead and maintain operational efficiency and excellence of the SOC to ensure that we are maximizing the use of automation, analytics and intelligence to counter the changing cyber threat landscape• Deliver reporting on the cyber security incidents, trends and exposures to executive, senior management and the Board on regular basis to ensure the cyber risk position is understood and has appropriate mitigation.• Articulate the global cyber security strategy against the growing cyber threat landscape to executives and senior business leaders across RBC• Provide updates and communications to the Board, RBC executives, senior management, IT teams and vendors regarding the emerging risks affecting RBC

As the Director of Cyber Security & CSIRT I am responsible for the development of strategies and processes to acquire, consolidate and analyze security intelligence information from various sources, assess the potential impact on the Bank’s IT operations and initiate/manage proactive responses. I am also responsible for providing leadership and direction for Cyber Security Intelligence gathering and implementation of requisite defenses and supporting processes. As Director of Cyber Security I am accountable for the timely reporting and escalation of threats and required countermeasures to Scotiabank management teams. The Director of Cyber Security is also responsible for the CSIRT (Computer Security Incident Response Team) function globally as well as maintaining all procedures, performing briefings and delivering evidence to external parties to satisfy audit requirements. I am accountable for the delivery of network security strategies and the implementation of secure network controls, policies, signatures globally leveraging an "Intelligence Based Security" model adopted by Scotiabank over the last 3 years. Lastly, I am responsible for leading and providing direction for the provisioning of technical security architecture solutions for the Bank globally.

I am currently running a Global Security Operations Centre for Scotiabank. I have 6 security analysts working for me performing in-depth IPS/IDS signature analysis, reverse engineering malware, incident management, architecture and design of security controls, penetration testing, ethical hacking, CSIRT, system analysis, memory forensics, phishing etc.My team coordinates all security incidents for Scotiabank globally and are subject matter experts in intrusion prevention, system analysis, malware analysis and emerging threats. My team also manages SIEM technology for Scotiabank and provides 24x7 monitoring over global assets for the Bank.

Responsible for security risk assessments, 3rd party security reviews, internal security reviews, SOX control audits, pervasive control audits, security control compliance reviews and security consulting services.

Responsible for the support of 90 users, network infrastructure, forensic investigations, application management and development, vendor management, logical and physical access, telecom and systems troubleshooting.
