I've been pushing the boundaries of online media/video, digital interactive and multiplatform television throughout my career, and love being able to bring my creativity and original approach to the party, as well as my extensive commercial experience. My productions have picked up an Emmy, 6 BAFTAs and over 90 international awards, reflecting how much fun and fulfilment I've had along the way creating innovative digital content and services. The Guardian flattered me with the description: "Channel 4's resident digital creative wizard". My first start-up was named one of the most innovative businesses in the UK by the BT/Cranfield Index 100.Where creativity meets tech is where my considerable experience comes into its own, alongside the commercial realities of online content. I helped establish Channel 4 as a global leader in TV-centred multiplatform through commissions such as 'Embarrassing Bodies' multiplatform, 'Big Fish Fight', 'Don't Stop the Music', 'Landshare', 'One Born Every Minute' and 'Jamie's Dream School'. I helped set up the original Short Form Video service on All4 (Channel 4's Video On Demand platform) commissioning over 25 series in the first year alone. Online video commissions range from 'Tattoo Twists' (which gave rise to hit series 'Tattoo Fixers' on E4) to 'Naked and Invisible' (which holds the record for the most viewed C4, E4 or All4 video content in social media). I went on to commission original documentaries at Little Dot Studios/Real Stories channel for a largely North American audience, as their first commissioner of original content. Then commissioning at Red Bull Media House (human interest docs) and CAA (all genres, video and audio) primarily with brand money. 'They Saw The Sun First' (documentary commissioned at Red Bull) was one of the first brand-funded films in the world to win an academy award.Specialisms: Online video, Social video, Short form video. Multiplatform projects (TV integration with web/mobile). The business of online video/VOD. Digital media commercial strategy. AI & filmmaking. Convergence. Creative thinking & innovation. Documentary & interactive documentary. Commissioning. Talent development, mentoring, supporting diverse creative talent.
