As the Cisco acquisition of the Viptela Organisation progressed; I was asked to engage in a multi-faceted roll to assist in the accelerated adoption of SD-WAN technologies, both internal and external to Cisco.A Particular focus was to facilitate the Global Service Providers (GSP) on their SD-WAN Journey, helping to evangelise the product at senior level and facilitate the technical, operational and logistical challenges. Work ensued with major providers including BT, Orange, Verizon and Vodafone, amongst others.In parallel, a huge uptake in SD-WAN service interest, aligned with a maturing market within the EMEAR region was underway; thus I was also asked to assist Channel Partners and End Customers as they also progressed their respective journeys. Work Streams were varied, including; Assisting with design and deployment of large scale & complex network environments, from PoC to implementation, in addition to training and generalised support.

Required to support multiple Cisco Platforms (Routers/L3 switches) RADIUS/RSA Servers and PIX/ASA firewall implementations and use multiple management suites to pro-actively and reactively improve network efficiency and health (tools include SNMPc, Observer Suite, EnVision, Solarwinds and Ethereal). In my time at SYP I have overseen, from design to implementation a large-scale WAN upgrade to the adoption of an Evolved Ethernet solution (80+ sites). At the core of the network, I have designed and implemented a large scale switch environment employing HSRP, Content Server switches and advanced DNS mechanisms, providing efficient load balancing functionality and true dual site redundancy (Disaster Recovery) to all critical business systems. Additionally I have assisted with the nationally implemented Automatic Number Plate Recognition system, giving infrastructure advice, assistance and implementation solutions, predominantly surrounding GPRS/3G/HSDPA and WLAN (Aironet) technologies. Other notable skills include my project manager/technical lead role for the successfully implemented Nortel Contivity and Cisco VPN SSL solutions for SYP, new technologies to the corporation. Furthermore I was also the lead role in a Quality of Service project, from policy creation to implementation, which forms an integral part of the completed VoIP project
Technical Support Engineer
Worked as part of a small team to support internal HP users throughout Britain on numerous sites.
