I am an Associate Professor of Political Science at California State University, Chico. Currently I am serving at the International Relations Program Coordinator. Over the last several years, I have also served at the faculty advisor to Chico State’s Upsilon Delta chapter of Pi Sigma Alpha, our Political Science Honor Society. I received both a M.A. and Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. At the University of Illinois, I received teaching accolades at the department, college, and university level, culminating in the Campus Excellence in Undergraduate Teaching Award.My teaching and research interests include international law, terrorism, international organizations and NGOs, and the politics of the EU. I am also deeply invested in pedagogical research. My interest in innovative and effective instruction stems from my service in Teach For America.At Chico State, I have served on the Academic Senate and the university-level Instructionally-Related Activities Committee. Currently I am the vice chair of the university-level Enrollment Management Advisory Committee. Outside of work, I am a woodworker, RPG gaming fan/forever DM, and YouTuber.
