Using PyPSA, an open-source energy system modeling tool, I am investigating how a potential solar-powered methanation technology would fit in a decarbonized California energy system

-Investigated factors that affect the amount of solar in an energy system using PyPSA-Eur-Sec, an open, sector-coupled, networked energy system model (ESM) in python, with Prof. Marta Victoria-Outputs: Presented poster at IEEE's 49th PVSC. Published "Long-term implications of reduced gas imports on the decarbonization of the European energy system" in Joule.

-Programmed virtual social events for the physics department-Led a department town hall discussion on antiracism practices inspired by a talk at Pomona College given by Tim Wise

-Modeled difficult concepts for students. Helped students solve homework problems and come into their own as problem solvers-Mentor for the intro physics sequence for majors (Fall 2018, Spring 2019, Spring 2021), and for non majors (Spring 2020, Fall 2020); lab TA for non-major sequence (Spring 2018, Fall 2020, Spring 2021), and for the sophomore modern physics lab (Fall 2019)

-Fabricated and characterized hundreds of screen-printed mesoscopic perovskite solar cells in the Tanenbaum Lab. -Developed a new fabrication technique that vastly increased performance.-Utilized laser-beam induced current imaging to compare cells-Gave a poster presentation at IEEE's 47th PVSC and an oral presentation at FiOL+S in Washington DC (2019)

-Worked in Dr. Monica Lares’ lab on isolating the BAFF-R protein by targeting specific DNA segments of E-coli bacteria using Western blots and gel electrophoresis-Documented procedures for further use-Part of competitive SSU's Summer High school Internship Program (SHIP)-Presented poster at end of summer conference
