Currently learning and growing my knowledge of the Real Estate Industry with Pinedale Properties Ltd.At my previous employer, Atrium Mortgage Investment Corporation, the company did a share swap and became a publicly reporting entity, has opened offices in four other cities across Canada and expanded from a portfolio of $193 Million to a portfolio in excess of $785 Million. This rapid growth has had its share of challenges but has been well worth the effort.I started my career in the Grant Thornton office in St. John's, Newfoundland and was lucky enough to have a very broad experience base including completing compilations for small businesses, reviews for small and large businesses including companies in the construction, retail, automotive and insurance industries. My audit experience at that time encompassed insurance and property management companies.I transferred to the Grant Thornton Toronto office in September of 2011 and worked closely with numerous private, not-for-profit and public companies to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting through audit engagements.In August of 2012 I began as Controller for Atrium Mortgage Investment Corporation, a publicly traded MIC, and a group of eight other private companies with primary responsibilities of setting up and maintaining internal accounting software, internal controls, taxation and and all aspects of financial reporting for Atrium and the group of private companies. My internal responsibilities continue to grow and expand and include supervision of the mortgage servicing department which has $1.9 billion in assets under management and includes two mortgage servicing managers and four mortgage servicing administrators.For the past two and a half months I have been transitioning all I have accomplished at Atrium for over 10 years to the new CFO and a new Controller of Atrium and am looking forward to my next challenge.
