Adam was born in Wakefield, West Yorkshire and attended Horbury High School followed by Wakefield District College. Adam then went to Lancaster University and completed a degree in Politics and International Relations. After some time working in various customer focused roles in retail and banking he joined IBM as a contractor in 1994 working in the Service Plus Business as a Call Manager. In 1996 Adam moved to the Midlands and began working onsite at Abbey National Milton Keynes as the IBM Service Manager responsible for a large multi-vendor Maintenance contract. Shortly after that Adam joined IBM on a permanent basis. In 2000 Adam became a qualified IBM Project manager and then worked in Business Operations. In 2002 Adam was promoted into his first Management position leading a team of professionals who were charged with increasing the value of large services contracts at major customers.In 2004 Adam was hand picked from a Top Talent pool to take responsibility for the termination of a large under-performing contract with a major UK retailer. The program was successful and the customer reported that they were more satisfied with their relationship with IBM after the termination than they were before it. Adam was then asked to pilot a new Business Development Manager role within the Maintenance business and become the primary relationship owner with the IBM Financial Services Sector. After setting up and leading an HR and Communication team for the Director of the Maintenance Business, Adam was promoted to be the IBM UK Maintenance Channel Sales Manager with a target of over $100m and a team of 10 sales people. Adam then moved into the IBM Business Partner Organisation to become IBM Client Director for SCC UK, a €1.5b UK reseller where he lead significant growth in IBM's Systems and Software business and developed excellent relationships and influence at all levels of the organisation.In 2017 Adam moved into IBM Distribution managing the Azlan / Techdata UK account. during this time Azlan business bought and integrated Avnet to become IBM UKs most significant Distribution partner with over $300m of Revenue across all IBM brands. In Nov 2019 Adam left IBM, after nearly 25 years of service, to join Dell Technologies, working in their European Alliances team in Strategic Outsourcer Sales.In May 2022 Adam moved to AWS as a Public Sector Partner Development Manager leading the UK relationship with IBM
