Right At School (RAS) is the fastest-growing after-school enrichment provider in the United States. Adam led the organization’s growth in this role, from serving ten schools in the Greater Chicago area to over 40,000 students nationwide, achieving a five-year growth rate of over 450%. KEY ACCOMPLISHMENTS:♦ Adam implemented Right At School’s multi-channel go-to-market strategy, driving its rapid growth and recognition as a seven-time honoree on the Inc. 5000 List of the Nation’s Fastest Growing Companies and a six-time honoree on the Crain’s Fast 50 List of the Fastest-Growing Companies in Chicago.♦ Adam played a pivotal role during the pandemic, developing the strategic plan and striking key partnerships with school district leaders and government officials to ensure RAS could safely and effectively provide services to the families of first responders and healthcare professionals in communities across the United States. ♦ Adam was involved in multiple new product and service launches, including expanding access to RAS programs for low-income families.♦ Adam oversaw all state and local government relations, successfully passing a new state law, expanding the after-school workforce, and securing over $1 million in government funding.♦ Adam revamped the RAS regulatory function, hiring a new director and implementing new technology and processes to ensure timely, efficient licensing and compliance across 17 states.♦ While managing RAS’ legal affairs, Adam identified specialized outside counsel and recruited the organization’s first full-time general counsel to increase internal legal capacity and reduce total spending.♦ Providing oversight to RAS’ public relations strategy, Adam was a spokesperson on press- and media-related inquiries.♦ Adam launched the organization’s risk management function, hiring its first director and leading a multi-functional team in developing RAS’ first comprehensive risk management plan.

During the Obama administration, Adam served as senior advisor to the United States chief performance officer, involved in a presidential initiative to reorganize and streamline the federal government. He partnered with the President’s Council on Jobs and Competitiveness to accelerate visa processing and stimulate the national economy following the Great Recession. He also led a financial management benchmarking initiative to drive government-wide efficiencies and cost savings.

Adam served as Chief of Staff of the Chicago Public Schools, managing the day-to-day operations for a school district with over 400,000 students, 40,000 employees, and a $6 billion budget. He also led CPS’ legislative and communications strategy, successfully avoiding over $630 million in proposed state budget cuts. Following the end of the District’s federal desegregation on the consent decree, Adam oversaw the transition to a new, legally compliant school admissions system that maintained the diversity of Chicago’s magnet and selective enrollment schools, viewed as a national model.

In this role, Adam led a newly formed department focused on increasing mass transit ridership and providing relevant and timely information to CTA customers. Additionally, he oversaw the rollout of multiple initiatives, including a new website and transit planner, that supported the CTA brand, improved the overall customer experience, and significantly grew revenue.

Adam worked under Chicago Mayor Richard M. Daley, developing and coordinating an ethics seminar delivered to over 1,200 city employees.
