Adam began his journey with computers on a TRS-80 he bought at a garage sale in the mid 90s for $20. Soon he was programming in BASIC and saving his programs to cassette tapes. Not long after, he moved on to Windows 3.11, dabbled in Visual Basic 1.0, QuickBASIC 4.5 and eventually moved to VB.NET.By age 12, he built his first PC using old parts he was given to by local businesses. After a lot of scavenging, head scratching, and a few bumps in the road, to his excitement his first hand built computer booted up. He pressed the power button, and hasn't looked back since!At the age of 16 he was given his first contract from a PI: software to globally search bank MICR numbers to track money laundering. At this time, the global MICR database was still a volume set of a dozen 5 inch thick books. The successful completion of this project became my first step in to the professional world of technology and development.In 2009, I began the start of several years working with WordPress. I built custom themes and plugins utilizing the latest development tools. While WordPress was the focus at KMDG, I was often tasked to work with projects in ZenCart, Drupal, Joomla!, Magento, and other custom content management and eCommerce solutions. Since then, I have successfully deployed tens of dozens of websites & apps for clients ranging from small businesses to multi-million dollar global corporations.At KMDG while under the guidance of lead developer Jake Finley, Adam worked with and designed complex, fully customized hosting solutions that integrate cutting edge technologies, such as: CloudFlare & Incapsula CDNs, CloudFlare Railgun, Varnish Cache, HAProxy, Pound, Google Pagespeed, Memcache[d], CloudLinux and other server technologies. Using these technologies, he has increased page load efficiency by over 2000% and blown the minds of his clients. As a result of this, Adam made the transition to DevOps, where he helped support a team of 5 developers.Now at Brockman Site Development, Adam is in charge of all things tech. Whether it's the purchasing of electronics and computers, Active Directory management, maintaining the company's website, new firewall deployment or remote access support through a VPN, he has handled the company's tech needs as it has doubled in growth year over year.
