Program Manager for Agency Transition to the Government Wireless Network (GWN), to enable improved communications, safety and security for Queensland’s public safety agencies and emergency workers. Following successful implementation for the G20, the Government Wireless Network was implemented in three stages across South East Queensland.Telstra and Motorola designed, built and will continue to finance, operate and maintain the network under a 15-year managed service arrangement with the Queensland Government.

As Project Manager for RTCA I worked with a team responsible for planning and delivering the Telstra IP Telephony (TIPT) product and services to all RTCA mine sites and town offices with QLD & NSW. The Telstra solution uses Voice over IP (VoIP) technology to provide significant benefits over that of a legacy PABX solution. Principal project manager for the Hardware replacement & capacity upgrade project, which included the tactical remediation, replacement and upgrade activities deemed critical by Information Division Operations. The planning of this project included the facilitation of workshops with multiple business units to form a prioritised operations list of activities to be delivered utilising multiple Cluster project teams. All projects required detailed planning with geographically dispersed project teams in order to minimise the risk of interruption to services by ensuring equipment and solutions are updated prior to failures occurring. The improvement in these technology resources will ultimately assist in the improved ability of Queensland Health to deliver consistent quality of care.

Responsible for the project management of ICT (information communication technology) projects for the technology & solutions team.My main responsibility was to work together with ICT functional managers on the strategic planning and successful delivery of the annual capital programme of work, ensuring the achievement of programme outcomes and that the outputs where applicable were sustainable and taken up by the wider business community. I successfully managed large, high impact, high risk and complex projects within mission critical 24/7 environments, where constant access to live services could literally mean the difference between life and death. All projects I have delivered within these environments required military precision planning to ensure minimal impact to the business whilst delivering on time to the agreed project scope and budget.As part of the programme management team I provided significant leadership in the development of the project management methodology and establishment of the project management office (PMO) within the New Zealand Police IT division.
