Adam Shead is a Chicago based percussionist arranger and composer with a strong background in orchestral, theatre, chamber, and contemporary performance. Adam is pursuing a Bachelor of Music in Instrumental Performance at Columbia College Chicago. While being a full time student Adam is an active member in Chicago's thriving performance scene performing in such groups as The Lucky Bikes, Super Medusa, Gigyas, Super Minotaur, Waterloo, Adam Shead 4tet and Mister Lies. Adam has had the privelege of studying Percussion with Tom Hipskind, Jarrett Hicks, Scott Simon, and Billy "Stix" Nicks; as well as studying composition with Kenn Kumpf and Philip Seward. Adam is fluent in all aspects of percussion including drum set in all styles, latin and african hand percussion, orchestral percussion, and extended techniques. This young musician is dedicated to the future of music and is hitting Chicago at full force.
