Working a L1 Network Engineer for Bharti Airtel LAN/WAN O&M .My responsibilities are focused on managing and monitoring over 800+ devices in a transit infrastructure using tools like WHD and SolarWinds. Responsibilities and Expertises• Network Traffic Monitoring:Monitor the data traffic flow across the transit network using the network monitoring tool SolarWinds.• Link Performance Monitoring:Continuously check the performance of various links, including WAN circuits, MPLS, and peering connections. • Basic Troubleshooting of Transit Links:Handle first-level troubleshooting of BGP (Border Gateway Protocol) routing issues, including identifying misconfiguration, routing loops, or missing prefixes.• Interface Management and Monitoring:Monitor physical interfaces on routers and switches in the transit network, ensuring proper functioning and minimal errors.• Network Events and Incident Reporting:Document and report network events, incidents, and outages. Ensure that incidents are logged and tracked for resolution. • Network Device Monitoring:Monitor transit network routers, switches, and other core devices for any signs of failure or performance degradation. • Capacity Monitoring and Utilization Reporting:Track network utilization across transit paths, ensuring there is enough capacity to handle peak traffic loads.• Security Monitoring and Escalation:Monitor for any unusual activity or potential security threats on the transit network.• Documentation:Maintain accurate records of network configurations, routing policies, and network topology for all transit links.• Assisting with Network Upgrades and Maintenance:Provide first-level support during network upgrades, maintenance windows, and link provisioning, ensuring minimal disruption to transit services.
